Past conference report
The first international congress on pharmacy updates was held 7-9 February 2018 in Razi convention center. About 2400 participants joint the event in three different halls.Around 500 abstracts were submitted, reviewed carefully, and 200 abstracts were accepted in 3 categories of oral, poster and poster-presentation. All accepted abstracts were published in the academic journal of IPA (International Pharmacy Acta). Nine abstracts were granted congress awards based on precise selection by our judging committee.
Various academic and practical panels were executed during the three days’ events, including the panel of Iranian FDA and its branches deputies, the panel of pharmacy specialist board of education, the panel of pharmacy associations, and the panel of pharmacy students. These executive panels provided an opportunity to discuss pharmaceutical issues of the country in face to face discussions between authorities and pharmaceutical community members in different fields.
International speakers gave their speech via digital tele-communication or in person. Among the international speakers in the congress were Ms. Betty Chaar, faculty member of school of pharmacy in Sydney, Austria and head of the joint committee of international pharmacist and world health organization; Dr. Zoryada , current head of faculty of pharmacy in Almaty, Kazakhstan and head of the drug import licensing committee in Kazakhstan; and Dr. Ibragimov, head of pharmacy economics and drug management department of Bashkir university in Russia.
In the closing ceremony 3 bilateral cooperation memorandum have been signed between the SBMU Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center and each of Austria, Kazakhstan and Russia universities presented in the meeting.
An interesting and fantastic section of the congress was related to the pharmacy students’ hall, where students delegates of different Iranian pharmacy schools had a chance to present their ideas and opinions. Full hall hot discussion were going on during the congress in this section, presenting hope and responsibilities in our young students.
Various simultaneous workshops in the different fields of pharmacy science and practice, as well as demonstration halls with many factories and industries boots, and site seeing events were memorable parts of Pharmacy Updates 2018.
